November Curriculum Update – Welcome to the Happy Helpers Club!

We want  our preschoolers to grow up with eyes that see the helpers and a heart that is thankful, because no matter how grown up you are, you always have people helping you and a thank you goes a long way.  When we stop and think about it, we are surrounded by helpers who deserve a big thank you for all the ways they help us. They are making the world we live in—the world our preschoolers live in—a better place.

So, who are these people we can thank for helping us?

  1. First, we can thank people who give us clothes, like Tabitha who made clothes to give to those in need.
  2. Second, we can be thankful for those who help us do things we can’t do on our own, just like Nehemiah, who asked for help when he knew he couldn’t build the wall alone.
  3. Third, we can be thankful for those who help us when we are hurt or scared.  God made people to be police officers, doctors, fire fighters to help us when we are hurt just like the Good Samaritan helped the hurt man.
What’s Coming Next?

WEEK 4 – 11/18, 11/25, 11/28

The fourth person we can thank for helping us has to do with one of our basic needs, food.  The widow in this story gives Elijah food even when she may not have enough to feed herself and her son. God rewards her being a Happy Helper by keeping her flour and oil from running out.  I am thankful for people who give me food. Preschoolers are surrounded by so many Happy Helpers who give them food when they are hungry. We want them to learn to say thank you for those that supply the food that fills their tummies.

Volunteer to spend time in your child’s classroom this year!

Sign up to PLAY in your child’s classroom!

Family has the most potential to influence a child’s relationship with God.  Something extraordinary can happen in the hearts of the next generation if we take the influences of family (red) and church (yellow) and combine them (to make orange!).  Together we can have a bigger and lasting impact on all of our children.  They do say that it takes a village to raise a child and we, here in EC Ministry, love being a part of your village!

Therefore, we invite you to experience church alongside your child and his/her friends during 9am Worship!  These events are low pressure for you, as we have staff to run the teaching of the lesson.  Come play with your child, have fun, and connect with other parents in your child’s class.

Our first opportunity is THIS SUNDAY November 18th!  We could still use more helping hands in the Dandelion Class (under 2 year olds) Click here to see open dates and sign up today!

Come get CRAFTY at Advent Workshop – Sunday December 2nd

Mark your calendar for an afternoon of crafting, Christmas music, delicious snacks and more!  This has been a longstanding tradition at WCC and is the perfect way to ring in the holiday season.  At various stations throughout the Gym will be make-and-take ornaments, gifts, candle making, wreaths and centerpiece making.  Early Childhood families are invited to come early, from 2:30-3:30pm, if you would like to take some extra time to do some of the regular craft stations with your Preschooler before the rush of older children begins.  All other ages are welcome from 3:30-5:30!

In addition to these stations and BRAND NEW THIS YEAR is our Early Childhood craft room!  Come get extra messy in our EC space stocked with age appropriate supplies, crafts, keepsakes, and hands-on activities for our youngest crafters.  Additional happy helpers will be in this space to assist with anyone’s creations.

Cost is $10 per crafter.  This is a can’t miss event!  If you know you are going to be attending, we would love for you to pre-register so we can make sure to have enough supplies for all.  Click below to pre-register:
