Welcome to our new teachers!
Ms. Beth will be spending her Sunday mornings with our under 2 year old friends in the Dandelion Room! In addition to spending time with us over the weekend, she is in the midst of her 18th year working at St. David’s Center in the young toddler room. Beth has a vast amount of experience teaching in Early Childhood and such a loving presence in the classroom. Your little ones are sure going to love on her!
Ms. Mary will be spending her Sunday mornings in our NEW Treehouse Room for our 3-4 year old friends! We are outgrowing our single class of 3-5 year olds so we are splitting the group in two. Some of you may recognize Ms. Mary from WCC Nursery School! She currently teaches 3 year olds in the Butterfly Room and is also the Music & Movement Specialist. Mary brings an amazing energy and buzz to every class she is a part of.
What a blessing to have these seasoned and talented teachers! And another blessing that we are continuing to grow in a way that allows us to safely care for more children and give them a rich first look at the love of God through the relationships and messages they experience in our space.
December Curriculum Update – Birthday Bash!
Happy birthday, Jesus! Yes, we know that Christmas is all about Jesus’ birthday, but do your preschoolers know? It will be a new idea to some of them.
We want our preschoolers to know that the reason we celebrate Jesus’ birthday is because Jesus is God’s Son. God’s Son deserves a celebration as big as Christmas and a birthday bash as big as what we’re going to give Him this month! He is that special! So, gather up all the birthday celebration you can and prepare to party all month long! It’s not just balloons and party hats. We are sharing the true story that God gave us His only Son, Jesus, and HE is worth celebrating!

WEEK 3 – 12/16
Week three we will hear about the most
amazing birth announcement EVER as the angels go and
tell shepherds nearby that Jesus has been born! You
won’t find anything to top that on Pinterest!
WEEK 4 – 12/19 & 12/23
Week four is party time! We will sing happy
birthday to Jesus and celebrate in such a super fun way
that our preschoolers will know:
1. It’s Jesus’ birthday
2. We celebrate Jesus because He is God’s Son and…
3. Christmas is all about JESUS’ birthday!
WEEK 5 – 12/30
Week five we will wrap up the big birthday
bash with a visit from some wise men. They follow a star
a very long way just to worship Jesus. Hey, they knew
Jesus is special!
Christmas Eve Worship – Monday December 24th
BUILD YOUR OWN NATIVITY – 10am – Sanctuary
Calling all kings, shepherds, and sheep! Help us re-create the Nativity in this
child-centered Christmas service. Bring your own costume, or wear one we provide!
CANDLELIGHT FAMILY CHRISTMAS – 1pm, 3pm, & 5pm – Sanctuary
[1pm is our Parables friendly service!]
This wonderful experience for all ages includes music by our contemporary music
team, Tapestry, a special Children’s Choir, Youth Ensemble, and Celebrations
Choir, your favorite Christmas carols, candle lighting, a special moment for children, and a Christmas message from Rev. Dr. John F. Ross.
*Childcare will be available for ages Birth-PreK for these services, but you are also welcome to keep your kiddos in Worship to experience the magic in the Sanctuary
Complimentary hospitality parking will also be available at the 1pm, 3pm, & 5pm Christmas Eve services. Drive up to the front portico of the church and parking attendants will be available to park your car.
Sing in the Children’s Christmas Choir – Christmas Eve Worship 5pm
Autumn Toussaint invites all children to gather and form a special “choir” for three rehearsals filled with fun, music, and special surprises. Ms. Hannah will be there too!
We will learn a very special Christmas song to sing at the Christmas Eve 5:00 p.m. Family worship service. Children need not attend all three rehearsals, and prior choir or music experience is not required. ALL are welcome!
There is one more rehearsal, Wednesday December 19th from 6:00-6:30 p.m. in the Adult Choir Room. Please, check in on the iPads at the East or West entrances before coming up for class!
On Christmas Eve, the 5pm service is Family Friendly so you are welcome to keep your children in Worship with you before and after they sing to enjoy the music and a special children’s message from Jodie Nyberg.
Early Childhood on Sundays
9:00am Worship
Check-in electronically at any of our iPad stations inside the doors of the East and West entrances. Starting at 8:45am, you may bring your child into the main door of the Early Childhood Center located at the East entrance. At our drop off spot, at the end of the main hallway, someone from our Early Childhood Ministry team will escort your child or direct you and your child to the right classroom.
During this worship service, your child will experience Sunday School with their peers in an age appropriate classroom environment. Each class will have free play, group time, a Bible Story, hands on Bible activity, and sing the unit’s theme song!
10:45am Worship
Check-in electronically at any of our iPad stations inside the doors of the East and West entrances. Starting at 10:30am, you may bring your child into the main door of the Early Childhood Center located at the East entrance. At our drop off spot, at the end of the main hallway, someone from our Early Childhood Ministry team will escort your child or direct you and your child to the right classroom.
During this worship service, your child will experience Sunday School in a mixed-age environment. This class will have free play, a Bible story, and hands on Bible activity.
Early Childhood on Wednesdays
No class on Wednesday December 26th or January 2nd. We will see you back for regular GROW Wednesday programming on January 9th!
Block One 4:00pm-5:15pm
Check-in electronically at any of our iPad stations inside the doors of the East and West entrances. Starting at 3:45pm, you may bring your child to the main door of the Early Childhood Center located at the East entrance someone from our Early Childhood Ministry team will escort your child or direct you and your child to the right classroom.
In this class, children will enjoy free play, an age appropriate worship experience that includes singing, dancing, and instruments, the weekly Bible story, and a hands-on Bible story activity.
Block Three 6:30pm-8:00pm
Check-in electronically at any of our iPad stations inside the doors of the East and West entrances. Starting at 6:15pm, you may bring your child to the main door of the Early Childhood Center located at the East entrance someone from our Early Childhood Ministry team will escort your child or direct you and your child to the right classroom.
In this class, children will enjoy free play, the weekly Bible story, and a hands-on Bible story activity.
