This fall, the WCC Sunday afternoon music series with Dr. Stephen Self will include four events. All programs begin at 3:00 p.m. and will be followed by a reception in Founders Hall.
Sunday, September 24
Stephen Self will present a recital of organ music on the magnificent Jackson organ. The program will include masterworks by Bach and more recent music by French and American composers.
Stephen Self will present a recital of piano music by great composers such as Bach, Chopin, Brahms, and Schumann. The program will conclude with several virtuosic jazz works by Nikolai Kapustin.
Sunday, November 5
On this All Saints’ Sunday, the Chancel Choir will present John Rutter’s stirring Requiem in a service of remembrance. Prayers and hymns will help to create a meditative time of remembrance and thankfulness.
Sunday, November 19
The four section leaders of the Chancel Choir will present an entertaining afternoon of solo and ensemble music that spans genres from classical and sacred to Broadway.
