Calling all special needs families! Wayzata Community Church offers a Respite Program for Kids with Special Needs. We offer a monthly, four hour window on either a Friday night or Saturday morning/afternoon so that families can have a safe place to drop their children with special needs where they will be cared for by a loving, understanding staff. Parents can use this time to check some things off the list, enjoy time with others, or just relax!
This program has been developed and is staffed by Kelly Pederson, Minnetonka special ed teacher/Parables consultant and a variety of other volunteers to meet the needs of those who register.
APRIL RESPITE CARE
The April Respite Care is offered on Friday, April 7 from 5-9 p.m. in the Gym.
First Time Registration
Please register online through the link. There is a lengthy form that you need to fill out only once that gives the staff background on the special needs of your child. This information is needed so that the program can be the best it can be for these special ed kids!
Repeat Visitor Registration
Please register online through the link. If you have already filled out a First Time Registration form for a previous visit, you can fill out this short version to sign up for your child’s next visit to Parables Kids’ Respite Care.
To make this program work, we also need volunteers. We are looking for middle school or high school kids, adults with a loving heart, as well as nurses and those who have worked with the special ed community before. Please click on this link to register as a volunteer.
