Care Companions are involved in a listening ministry designed to partner the laity with clergy to provide support to members at times of loss, transition, illness or grief. Wayzata Community Church is blessed to have a long history of lay pastoral care leadership and training through Stephen Ministries and Called to Care. At any given time we have dozens of Wayzata Community Church care givers working one-to-one with persons in need within our community, and visiting members in hospitals and care centers. These care companions extend the ministry of pastoral care far beyond the limitations of the staff. The training itself is an opportunity to learn more about how to be disciples and neighbors to all who we encounter on our life’s journey. Training and educational opportunities are offered throughout the year. Contact the Pastoral Care office to be connected to a care companion, or to find our more about becoming a Care Companion.
The Prayer Chain is a network of members devoted to prayer on behalf of others. Prayer requests may be submitted to the Pastoral Care office at any time. All requests are held in strict confidence. You may also call the Pastoral Care office at (952) 473-8877.
Just off the back of the Sanctuary is the Prayer Room. This room is open and available to anyone whenever the church is open. This room provides a quite, contemplative space to pray and reflect. If you wish, you can write out and leave a prayer for yourself or for someone else who is on your heart.
Prayer Notes/Care Notes
In the hallway outside the Clergy Suite is a rack of Prayer Notes/Care Notes that represent many topics of concern. Feel free to take these booklets to for your personal use, or to give someone you know to help through hard times.
