Finding Comfort In Scriptures

Several people have asked me for a list of scripture that they can go to in particular situations and in times of need. It is a comfort to find just the right words in our Holy text, to use in prayer and meditation. This list is only a beginning, so if you have a favorite that you turn to for comfort and inspiration, I would love to know what it is and how it has been meaningful to you. It is also a valuable exercise to find a guiding scripture that can accompany you in all the times of your life, or for a particular time in your life.

Today, mine is Romans 8:38-39: “For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Many Blessings,
Lindy
