The first question which the priest and the Levite asked was: “If I stop to help this man, what will happen to me?” But the good Samaritan reversed the question: “If I do not stop to help this man, what will happen to him?”
Martin Luther King, Jr.
The Board of Deacons works closely with the clergy to provide for meaningful worship experiences on Sundays and other special occasions during the year. They assist in the administration of the sacraments, communion and baptisms, and oversee the spiritual life of the congregation in cooperation with the ministerial staff. The Deacons also extend the spirit of worship to hospitalized and homebound members through the distribution and delivery of flowers and bulletins to those who are unable to be present for worship.
One of the ways we offer Pastoral Care is by meeting basic needs within our neighborhood and community. We are able to do this through the Deacons Fund.
The Deacons Fund is intended to meet the special needs that arise within our community. Funds are collected every Sunday through the special envelopes that are available in the pews. We give from our abundance in order to help those in our community who have sudden, unexpected needs. We encourage you to support this important ministry each week as you are able.
If you personally need assistance through our Deacons Fund, please contact our Pastoral Care team.
