WCC Senior Adult Ministry
Building a legacy of community and faith
You’re never too mature to be a vital, engaged, and important part of your community, especially here at WCC. Our seniors help show the church what it means to create a lasting legacy. Many of our ministry offerings are multi-generational and designed to invite people into community no matter their age. Others are tailored to specific ages, such as our Family Ministry programs.
If you are a senior adult, please browse through our Fall Catalog. Check out Soup, Salad and Song with Lindy Purdy, a monthly luncheon tailored to people ages 65+. You might enjoy participating in Rev. Lindy Purdy’s and Rev. Dan Stark’s Faith Bible Study classes this year, or any of the Adult Faith Formation classes being offered. Sing in a choir or join the Joyful Noise Handbell Choir! Enjoy the Community Meal on Wednesdays, served from 5:15-6:30 p.m. in Mithun Hall — a home-cooked meal and great fellowship!
Hear speaker Kate Schaefers at the Next Chapter event on September 21st in the Sanctuary, or speaker Justice Allen Page on October 12. Third Thursday Readers is an established lay-led group that meets monthly to discuss a wide variety of books, and welcomes new participants to their discussions. Join us for one of the Fall Concerts happening on Sunday afternoons, led by Stephen Self. Or, check out the new WISH Ministry, Widowed in Social Harmony— not a grief group, but a social group with men and women who have walked a similar path and want to have fun! Come and enjoy a Brew Night or Burger Night! We’ve got something for everyone this fall. Check out the catalog and find your community here at Wayzata Community Church!
