Reverend Dan Stark
Associate Minister
Dan grew up in rural southeastern Minnesota in the sprawling metropolis of Kellogg — population 400. He attended college at Luther in Iowa and then found his way to the Twin Cities for a couple theology degrees at Luther Seminary. He also holds his M.Div from Emory University in Atlanta. Dan is ordained by the UCC.
Dan and Sonia fatefully met at Target over a decade ago and have been married for 14 years. They have two children, Charlotte and Elliott, who are the quintessential pastor’s kids. Before he began his tenure at WCC, Dan pastored a UCC church in Milwaukee Wisconsin for over 6 years. Dan has also served the wider Church as a hospital chaplain, and he is also a military chaplain in the Air Force Reserves. He is attached to Kadena Air Force Base in Okinawa Japan.
Dan’s passion for ministry is teaching and making the Bible relatable for people. As a chaplain he strives to serve God and the airmen by being as accessible and approachable as possible. Dan likes to incorporate personal stories and humor into his preaching and teaching. He wants people to feel at home with the church and God.
Outside of church you can find Dan running around Maple Grove, gardening, grilling stuff, playing with his kids, and walking his goofy dog, Duncan.
