June 5: POWER TAP WITH CHARLES LAZARUS
We are thrilled to welcome the amazing trumpeter Charlies Lazarus with Power Tap this summer! Charles made his Carnegie Hall solo debut with the New York String Orchestra at the age of 19 while still a student at the Juilliard School, and he has played with the Minnesota Orchestra for over 24 years. Power Tap— Twin Cities’ event band — covers every decade and genre from Bruno Mars to Johnny Cash with their signature harmonies. And we’ll hear a good word from Rev. Lindy Purdy! This promises to be an amazing evening of singing and dancing to some great rock n’ roll!
June 12: 2 GIRLS & A BOYD
We welcome back to M+M “2 Girls & A Boyd”! This talented group was born out of a love for rich and complex vocal harmonies, and these veterans of stage and studio combine for a powerful live experience. Highlighting the talents of each of the artists the three members, Mary Jane Alm, Aimée Lee and Boyd Lee performed for the first time as this ensemble in late 2016 to immediate acclaim. And bringing an inspiring message this evening is guest speaker Rev. Dan Stark! An incredible night is in store.
June 19: NATE SABIN
Years ago Nate married his true love, and began working as a part-time worship leader in the little traditional Pentecostal church that his dad pastored. He started a gospel youth choir, mentored young musicians and studied and practiced and observed more and more about the nature and function of worship. Worship moved from being a job or a passing interest to becoming a calling and a focusing passion. Today he is committed to equipping churches, worship-leaders, pastors, and worshipers with songs, support, teaching and inspiration for the journey into the heart of God. Guest speaker Rev. Steve Wiens will bring an inspired message.
June 26: JOEL HANSON AND TERRY ESAU
We are thrilled to welcome to M+M Twin Cities musician Joel Hanson – an exceptional singer, songwriter, guitarist and recording artist who is perhaps known best as a member of the band PFR, one of the most popular Christian rock acts of the 1990s. He and his family live on a small farm outside Minneapolis. Our guest speaker this evening, Terry Esau, has written and produced thousands of pieces of music for TV commercials…from Target to McDonalds, Pepsi to Perkins, Harleys to Hondas. He is also a certified bike-o-holic who started a non-profit organization in 2010 called Free Bikes 4 Kidz, and has given away over 150,000 bicycles to kids in need. You’ll be inspired by his stories!
