You’re Invited to the Dr. Seuss Book Breakfast!
You could not, would not miss,
a celebration quite like this!
February is the month, the 10th is the day, 9am is the time we’ll play! Stay till 10:30 and you’re sure to see how much fun the Lorax can be! Art, games, and breakfast galore, story time, prizes, need I say more?
Learning to read and reading to learn are critical academic skills, but reading for pleasure is one of life’s greatest gifts that stretches far beyond classrooms. Wayzata Community Church’s Early Childhood Ministry invites you to celebrate “I Love to Read” month at the Dr. Seuss Book Breakfast!
Join us on Saturday, February 10th from 9 a.m.-10:30a a.m. in Mithun Hall at Wayzata Community Church for a delicious breakfast and a morning full of whimsical and age-appropriate games, art, and a larger than life story time featuring this year’s Dr. Seuss book, The Lorax.
We will be hosting a book drive at this event! Bring a favorite children’s book, new or gently used, and you will receive a special gift and a single raffle entry. For each additional 2 books brought, you will receive an additional single raffle entry. The winner will be chosen at random during the event and will receive a special Lorax themed gift basket!
This year, we will also be preparing a special breakfast, on separate equipment, for our friends with food allergies/dietary needs. The menu is being put together and executed by one of our Early Childhood Ministry families that has a child with food allergies.
Click here to purchase tickets and inform us of any allergies or dietary needs your family may have.
Kids’ Night Out
The next Kids’ Night Out is Friday February 16th! Children, 3 years old through 5th grade, are welcome to join us for a night of pizza, games, crafts, and a movie. Check your child in at the Gym, by the West Entrance, at 6pm. The fun concludes at 10pm. We know this is quite late for our early childhood friends so know that it is always okay to pick your child(ren) up early. Let Jodie Nyberg or Ashley Fournier know at check-in if that is something you are interested in.

Milestones Ministry
Infant Baptism Milestone: Engaging the Sacrament of Baptism
Parents of infants spend one session sharing, laughing, and growing as they learn about their baby’s physical, emotional and spiritual health…as well as their own. We share about the sacrament of Baptism and the theology behind why we practice this ancient ritual. The course finishes with your child’s baptism at Sunday worship. Parents and their infants are together for the beginning and close of the session, with nursery care provided during the rest of the session. Childcare will be provided for additional children in your family at the cost of $20 per family. Our next baptism milestone session is Thursday February 1, 2018 from 6-7:15pm in the Colonnade. Future sessions are tentatively scheduled for the following Thursdays: April 12th, and May 3rd.
4 Year Old Preschool Prayer Milestone: Building Family Prayer Tools
A child’s transition from infant to toddler to preschooler is a period of constant discovery for parent and child alike. From the child’s perspective, virtually everything he or she encounters – from the most mundane task to the most unique occurrence – is happening for the first time. In this single session course we will craft 5 prayer tools to be used in your family. We will learn together how to put these prayer tools to use in your family’s regular flow of life. An announcement with the specific date will be coming your way soon!
Blessings,
