November Sundays in Graceland: Courage like Queen Esther!
Throughout the month of November we will learn a story about a courageous Queen-
Esther! Esther lived in Persia which was a hostile environment for Jewish people during this time. She bravely worked with others to change injustice for her people. We can learn from Esther’s story. Whether it’s advocating for a friend with a disability or resisting the urge to laugh at a mean joke, all children can spread God’s love and justice!
All lessons are interactive with children learning their stories through art, cooking, drama, spiritual practices, games, and science. Join in on the fun throughout the month of November! Sunday School for k-5th graders is in individual grade level classrooms at 9am and in one one room schoolhouse style group at 10:45am each week.
Faith Trek Wednesday Program 6:30-8:00pm
Throughout the month of November we’ll be learning about the importance of Cooperation! Cooperation is a spiritual concept that originates with God. God creates us to work together in community. Throughout the bible, we see how God brought people together to accomplish big things! When we work together we reflect what Jesus envisioned for his followers.
Each week in our Wednesday program we’ll explore this concept through bible stories, games, engaging video clips, music and small group time. We are excited to announce new small group leaders on Wednesday nights too! Because our groups are so big we are adding more leaders. Welcome Mary Luse and Kara O’Brien who will be small group leaders for 2nd grade, Beth Schneider who will meet with 4th graders and Mary Kay and Marty Keenan as leaders for 1st grade!! Welcome new leaders!!
4th grade Milestone: Nov. 7th (6:30-8:00pm)
Calling all 4th graders and their parents! Wednesday Nov. 7th is the last Wednesday to join us for our Bible Milestone class. Reverend John ross and i will teach this last class which will focus on the New Testament and the Early church. We’ll practice reading scripture, play fun games and we’ll get to touch and read from the Saint John’s bible this week! Even if you’ve missed all other sessions, try to join us for this last session in the Community room on the 7th!
4th Grade Bible Sunday: Nov. 18th
All 4th graders will be presented with their very own bible on Sunday Nov. 18th at either the 9:00am or 10:45 service in the sanctuary. Even if you can’t attend any Milestone classes we really want to present your child with a bible. Please send Jodie an email asap if you haven’t RSVP’d for a bible for your child. We will be engraving names in each bible and want to include everyone! jnyberg@www.wayzatacommunitychurch.org
November Mission Giving Opportunity: Care of You Kits for Kids!
